1. Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small piece of data that a website can ask your browser to store and return with later requests. Local storage is a different browser facility: it keeps data for a particular website origin, but does not automatically send that data with requests. Privacy and storage rules can apply to both, so this policy discusses them together.
The supplied Mediamiviewvillage website does not set HTTP cookies through its own code. It uses localStorage only to remember your response to the cookie banner. There are no embedded external fonts, remotely loaded photographs, advertising pixels, analytics libraries or interactive map services in this build.
2. Storage inventory
The table describes the actual client-side implementation, not a list of hypothetical tracking tools. The live operator must separately check whether its hosting platform adds security or other cookies and update this policy before enabling any additional technology.
| Category | Name / technology | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | mvv_cookie_choice_v1First-party localStorage | Remembers accept, reject or essential-only, with a timestamp and version. Not sent by our script. | Honoured for 180 days; may remain until revisiting or clearing storage. |
| Analytics | None installed | No audience measurement or behaviour tracking. | Not applicable |
| Functional | None installed | No optional saved settings, embedded media or third-party map preferences. | Not applicable |
3. What the banner buttons mean
Accept All records an acceptance choice. Because no optional categories are currently installed, it does not activate analytics or advertising. Reject Non-Essential records your rejection of optional storage, while retaining the essential preference record. Both choices leave the guides fully available.
Preferences opens a panel explaining that essential storage is the only active category. Choosing “Save essential-only preferences” records that decision. There are no misleading switches for services that do not exist. If optional services are introduced later, the operator must provide accurate controls and obtain any required fresh consent before loading them; your current choice is not a blanket permission for unknown future tracking.
4. Changing or clearing a choice
Use “Cookie settings” in the footer of any page to reopen the banner and replace your saved decision. Choices apply to this browser and website origin, not every device you own. Clearing site data, using a different browser or switching between separate origins can make the banner appear again.
The script treats a saved choice as expired after 180 days. On your next visit it removes an expired record and asks again. Local storage has no automatic built-in expiry, so a record can remain on a device you do not revisit until you clear it. If storage is blocked or unavailable, the controls still dismiss the banner for the current page, but the decision may not survive navigation.
5. Browser opt-out instructions
In Chrome, open Settings, then Privacy and security, and find Site settings or site-data controls. Search for this domain and delete its stored data. In Edge, use Settings and the cookies or site-permissions controls to view and remove site data. Menu wording varies by version.
In Firefox, open Settings, Privacy & Security, then Cookies and Site Data and Manage Data. In Safari on macOS, use Settings, Privacy and Manage Website Data. On iPhone or iPad, look under the Safari settings and its Advanced Website Data controls. Search for mediamiviewvillage.rest and remove its entry. Blocking third-party cookies alone does not necessarily remove first-party localStorage; use the site-data controls for that purpose.
Private browsing generally limits how long storage survives, but behaviour differs by browser. No sale or sharing trackers are present regardless of Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control settings. Contact [email protected] with storage questions, and read the privacy policy for wider data-handling information and publication limitations.
